Why Choose Woodpeckers?

Our family run nursery incorporates a home from home environment that is nurturing but also stimulates and encourages children's curious minds. Our beautiful Suffolk day nursery offers a calming but stimulating environment, a place for children to explore, develop and learn.

Here at Woodpeckers we are passionate about incorporating a child's family into the learning experience. We are committed to encouraging a creative, confident and intelligent child. We welcome children from all backgrounds and focus on supporting and facilitating harmony and development of socialisation skills.

We encourage families to have an active role in their child's learning experience. Daily conversations and online learning journals are part of our day to day practice which allows us to use your ideas and discussions in our documentation.

Our staff support and facilitate your child's learning through observing and listening closely. They guide and support experiences in order to deepen their understanding of the world around them and discover ways of working together with others. Our key person scheme allows staff to tune in to your child's individual needs and interests and plan how to further support your child's learning and development.

We have also teamed up with the Sudbury Community Wardens and we reguarly take our pre-school children on litter picking trips around Sudbury. This is a fantastic way of building up children's awareness of how to take care of the environment in which we live.
